“The possibilities for health, wellness, and expansion - in all areas of life - are endless.”

about me

I’m Kelsey - yogini, teacher of Ayurveda and yoga, Ayurveda health counselor, student of Vedic astrology, and above all - an evolving student of life.

I began my personal yoga practice in 2006 when I started exploring natural, holistic ways to enhance my health and quality of life. I completed my first yoga teacher training in 2009, was assisting yoga teacher trainings by the end of 2010, and by 2012 totally immersed myself in yoga and Ayurveda when I went to live and work with a teacher on Kauai, Hawaii for 8 years and another year in New Zealand. Through that time my yoga practice and teaching expanded in breadth and depth, I obtained my 300-hour yoga teacher training certification, became an Ayurveda health counselor and teacher, and began studying and practicing Vedic astrology.

I also developed, conducted, and taught at innumerable trainings including 200 and 300-hour Yoga teacher trainings, Ayurvedic chef trainings, Ayurvedic treatment trainings, introductory to advanced Ayurveda programs and yoga and Ayurveda retreats in Hawaii, India, New Zealand, and Canada. I mentored many students through their professional Ayurveda studies and continue to provide ongoing mentorship for Ayurveda health counselors and yoga teachers.

A little bit more about me… I currently live on beautiful Vancouver Island where I work with clients and students in person and online through my offerings at Illumine Ayurveda and Yoga, provide the teachings of Ayurveda and sustainable yoga at various 200 and 300-hour Yoga teacher trainings worldwide, and am the Ayurveda director and a faculty member at Bindu Institute of Learning, a multi-disciplinary institute based in Spain. I’m in love with everything Vedic - I love what the practices of Ayurveda, yoga and natural, intuitive living have done for my life and how I see them influence the people and world around me. Over time, as I aligned my living with Nature and her wisdom, I cleansed physical toxicity and limiting patterns, reduced and eliminated a whole lot of symptoms in my body and mind, and learned to nourish my health, energy, and access to my innermost truth. Some of the things I love most are teaching, learning, working with clients, almost anything in nature, the sun, hiking, getting in water, fires, relationships, exploring creativity in the kitchen, gatherings with friends, and cooking for myself and others.

I invite you to explore the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda and yoga, the insight of Vedic astrology and the power of natural, holistic, and intuitive living for yourself. The possibilities for health, wellness, and expansion - for all of life - are endless.

With love,

Kelsey

about illumine

'Illumine’ means to light up, brighten, enlighten, or shine light on. Integrating Vedic wisdom and natural, intuitive living in our lives lights up our true nature - the capacity for empowered self-healing, big love, and expanded consciousness.

Vision: A world where humanity thrives physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually… naturally.

About the logo: The lotus reminds us that just like the lotus rises from muddy waters and blooms into beauty untainted by the mud, we too can rise from the pain, suffering, and lower expressions of ourselves to express the pure, untouched and untouchable beauty that we already are.

The unalome within the lotus represents the often turbulent path to healing, health and self-growth that eventually smoothes out as we keep going one step at a time.

The star above the lotus represents our inner essence, always guiding our path from the wisdom that resides deep within our being.

“Only from the heart can you touch the sky.”

about vedic sciences

The Vedic sciences include Ayurveda, yoga and Vedic astrology. They’re natural, holistic systems rich with timeless wisdom on how to improve our human experience and especially valuable in current times because disconnection from Nature and her wisdom is why we see the widespread suffering, confusion and disease that we do.

Vedic knowledge teaches us to align with both Nature’s rhythms and what’s natural for us as unique individuals so we can embody optimum health, live from the space of our truth and inner answers, and empower our innate ability to thrive.
